One
can't help but wonder as to why this film has been named
ANJANEYA. Because there is no connection between the title and
the film. But this is what is happening of late. Title gives a
different picture altogether.
ANJANEYA is another routine affair. Good beats
bad. But before that good goes through two and half hour of
trauma, which is laced with romance, sentiments and songs. The
last fifteen minutes good succeeds in thrashing the bad.
The film starts of with Param Guru (Ajit)
and his sister (Anu Hassan). They stay in Kutralam. Guru gets
selected in the UPSC and moves to Chennai to stay with his
father (Raghuvaran). Guru by nature is volatile when it comes to
injustice. This self appointed Samaritan, interferes anywhere
and everywhere injustice happens. This becomes a cause of worry
to his father. He promises that he won't worry his father. Guru
falls in love with Divya (Meera Jasmine) a college student.
Enters King-Pin (Reddy), a goon who
has strong nexus with the politicians and the law system. Guru
rubs him the wrong way and as a result he becomes ineligible to
be selected to the police department Guru battles this injustice
in the court and finally emerges victorious. . Rest of the film
has nothing strong to convey, it's just how Guru fights
injustice. The first half of the film is sad and the second half
of the film drags making it all the more miserable. A very loose
screenplay. Performance wise Meera Jasmine has been wasted.
Ajith with his dashing looks is impressive in the first half.
But good looks aren't enough to make a film run. Raghuvaran and
Anu Hassan perform well. Mani Sharma tunes are sore. Overall it
is better to avoid this film. |
